Important Information

Spring Performance:
Tuesday, April 30: 1:00pm Matinee, 6:00pm Evening show
Doors open 30 mins before- NO EARLY ENTRANCE
Entrance by donation. There will be a concession stand and a 50/50 draw! See poster at bottom of Friday Feed

Athletics:
- Congratulations to our badminton player and girls soccer team as they close out their seasons- great display of sportsmanship CCS UNITED!
- Flag Football starts this week!

Health Notice:
We are seeing a lot of illness going around the school. Students and staff are falling ill, and as such I would like to remind all parents to please keep your children home if they are sick. We are a small and close community, and illness spreads fast!

Cambridge Uniforms:
Next week the 5% discount wraps up for families at CCS. April 30th is the last day to take advantage of this discount. May 1-June 15 is the next special which is complimentary shipping on orders over $250.00 (before tax).

Uniform Shorts:
It doesn’t look like shorts weather today, but starting May 1, students may wear uniform shorts to school. Please be reminded that they must be Top Marks or Cambridge. Other shorts are not permitted.

PEC Elections:
Please see the information emailed this week regarding upcoming PEC elections

AGM:
Our AGM will be on May 7th at 6:30pm in the school gym. Please note that parents are expected to come to this event as per Family Statement of Commitment. This year we are going to offer 1 hour of Parent Participation to all families that come, AND there will be a special wine draw at the end of the evening. A reminder that attendance is part of your Family Statement of Commitment.

Parent Participation Update:
Families, the deadline to complete parent participation hours is fast approaching! The requirement of 34 regular hours and 6 maintenance hours for a total of 40 hours is due by May 31, 2024. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities during the school week and on weekends to accommodate all schedules.

If you are unable to attend a volunteer shift, kindly remove yourself from the task with as much notice as possible. If there is more than 24 hours notice, the task can be reposted and hopefully a replacement can be found . If there is less than 24 hours notice, email the parent participation coordinator. Failure to report an absence will result in a no show fee of $25 per missed shift. Three no shows, and the family will be removed from the program and will have to pay out the remaining hours at the cost of $30 per missed regular hour and $60 per missed maintenance hour.

Ad hoc requests are tasks that you did not sign up for on the website or a task that took longer than expected. Please submit these within one month of completion for approval. Anything submitted beyond that date, and approval is at the discretion of the coordinator.

Family Movie Night is on May 3rd: The movie that YOU voted for was Star Wars: A New Hope. Concession pre-order forms went home on Wednesday. Deadline for returning forms is May 1st. PLease note that costumes are encouraged, BUT please no light sabers or other weapons.

All you need to do is visit any Return-It Express Location and enter the CCS phone number (604) 574-5151 at the kiosk. Print your labels, stick them on your empties & help CCS!
