Orange Shirt Day is Monday, September 30
Orange Shirt Day is Monday, September 30th. On this day the students will be invited to wear an orange shirt to commemorate the experiences of First Nations children in residential schools in Canada.
In addition to wearing an orange shirt, students will join in an assembly during which they will learn about the stories of First Nations children. It is essential to real truth and reconciliation that we teach our children these stories and help them learn from the mistakes and tragedies of our past.
Please support Orange Shirt Day by sending your child to school in an orange shirt (if they have one) and talking to your children about what they learned that day.
